JOAN SUNYER MORET's Portfolio, furniture and lighting and unique gifts Designer
· Born in January 1962 in Santanyí (Mallorca ). After studying primary school in Santanyí I learnt mechanical technician assistant at IES Felanitx (1976-1978).In 1978 I began working at the family workshop devoted to repairing engines and auxiliary machinery on fishing boats. From 1996 to 1999 I studied furniture design at the Escola Superior de Disseny in Palma de Mallorca.
· In 2000 we remodelled the workshop and since then we design and produce crafts and unique objects. Although many of our works are individual orders we make also small numbered series of commemorative items for gifts and business. The most common materials we use are iron, Santanyí’s stone and glass. We are also able to use other materials like certain metals, polymers, wood, wax and textiles.
· After attending a course in the Fundació Centre del Vidre de Barcelona Marina
· In 2009-10 Winter Season I designed the BimBolles Lighting System together with Isabel de Yzaguirre. We presented the whole system in March 27th in our Showroom at Santanyí.
